Please join us  for our 2nd annual participation in the Ft Myers Relay for Life.

Last year, we surpassed our goal of $2500 and had a great time doing it. This year we have raised the bar and our goal is $3500. We are also participating as a first aid stand. There are many ways that YOU can help make this event even more successful than last year. The Tau Zeta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International at Florida Gulf Coast University would like your assistance in identifying possible candidates for membership in the category of Nurse Leader. Recognizing that honor society membership was not available to many of today’s outstanding nurse leaders and scholars, the society created the “nurse leader” membership category to honor these individuals for their achievements and contributions to nursing.
 
Candidates are eligible for membership if they hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree and have demonstrated achievement in nursing in at least one of the following areas: education, research, practice, administration or publication. I feel confident that you have colleagues that you would like to recognize and endorse.
 
Please feel free to pass along this form to candidates you wish to nominate. Candidates must return completed forms with required documentation to Tau Zeta at the address below no later than Monday, March 17, 2008. The Eligibility Committee will review all applications and those applicants who meet the criteria will be invited to join. New inductees will be honored at our Annual Business Meeting and Celebration of Leadership on Wednesday, March 27, 2008.

Dinner Meeting Attendance

Please note that attendance to our dinner meetings sponsered by pharmaceutical representatives is limited to prescribers and NP students only. Also, it is very important to RSVP to a meeting if you are planning to attend. Many of the venues have limited seating and when unexpected guests arrive it is unfair and inconveniences those who have responded with a timely RSVP as well as the restaurant staff. At future meetings, there will be a sign-in checklist to ensure that those who have RSVP have priority seating. Physican Assistants and other guests who have responded with a RSVP are welcome to attend for a nominal fee.
